Read on to learn if you are a great candidate for this procedure and how to get ready for your appointment.
Permanent makeup involves depositing pigment into the basal layer of the epidermis using a handheld tool. The process takes a few hours as it is preceded by a consultation to discuss your aesthetic preference for your eyebrows and time requirements. Please allow a 3-hour window for the appointment.
Ombre Brows is a two-step treatment, consisting of an initial procedure and then a touch up after 6 to 8 weeks if necessary.
What to expect:
To start, I'll take your photo and make measurements to map out the desired brow design. We'll discuss any corrections and agree on a final shape before shaping your eyebrows with pencil. Remember, no face is perfectly symmetrical, so expect your brows to be sisters, not twins.
Color selection is based on your skin tone, natural hair color, and makeup used for shading brows. Consider filling in your eyebrows weeks before the appointment to adjust to a fuller look. Topical anesthetic ensures comfort before pigment deposition. Loss of pigment during healing is normal, necessitating a touch-up appointment.
Permanent cosmetic enhancements typically require multiple application sessions for optimal results. After your first session, the color intensity will initially be sharp and dark, but will gradually soften as the skin heals over the next 14 days. TRUST THE PROCESS.
*For more information on the healing process, please see the "The importance of aftercare" post.
BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
• DO NOT take Aspirin, Fish Oil, Niacin, Vitamin E and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48 hrs prior to your procedure. Tylenol is fine.
• No facials or chemical peels a week prior to the scheduled appointment.
• AVOID sun and tanning one week prior to your procedure.
• Discontinue Glycolics, Retin-A or Retinol products 4 weeks before the scheduled appointment.
• DO NOT use AHA skincare products close to the enhancement area 2 weeks prior to and after your procedure.
• If you've had any cosmetic surgical procedures done on the face area such as PDO threads or facelift, please wait TWO MONTHS to fully heal prior to the eyebrow tattoo procedure.
• DO NOT consume any alcohol beverages 24 HOURS before the scheduled appointment. This will prevent any excess bleeding, oozing, and minimizes swelling during the procedure.
• If there are any open wounds, sores, pimples, bruises, or any other skin irritations or conditions such as an eczema flare up on the area; please wait for your skin to be completely healed before attending the scheduled appointment...
Please contact immediately if rescheduling is necessary due to this matter. When in doubt please read thoroughly and contact us prior to scheduling.
As you know by now, Ombre shading is similar to a tattoo but it does not penetrate as deeply as a permanent tattoo. Safety is crucial due to individual health and skin conditions that can affect the outcome. Some candidates will reap the benefits of PMU and sadly, some candidates won't. This is simply because of their health and/or skin condition that will affect the healing process. Either way, you should always work with a technician who takes this into account. Safety is everything!
Please disclose any health or skin conditions when scheduling your appointment to avoid service refusal and loss of deposit. Please read below to see if you can receive the service.
